L’Intelligenza Artificiale (o Artificial Intelligence – AI), in contrasto con quella naturale propria degli esseri umani e degli esseri viventi in generale, è la capacità di trasferire a strutture artificiali schemi logici e cognitivi in grado di apprendere da esperienze passate, in modo da poter agire rapidamente e nel modo più efficace possibile.
L’Intelligenza Artificiale rappresenta uno strumento essenziale per l’analisi in tempo reale di sistemi fisici e l’individuazione della strategia vincente, sia per la gestione automatizzata che per i sistemi di supporto alle decisioni (o Decision Support Systems – DSS).
